Established in 2004, Thirty-Thousand.org is a non-partisan and non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which conducts research on, and educates the public about, the insidious degradation of representative democracy in the United States resulting from Congress’s longstanding practice of constricting the number of federal Representatives relative to the total population.

Thirty-thousand.org believes that the number of federal Representatives in the U.S. House should be increased substantially in order to extend the ground of public confidence in our government and to best ensure the beneficent ends of its institution.

Thirty-thousand.org will educate the public about the benefits of returning political power to the people by re-establishing House districts that are both smaller and equally-sized as was originally envisioned by the framers of the Constitution and by the states’ which subsequently ratified it.

Objectives

Provide information about the substantial dilution of our democratic rights as a result of increasingly oversized U. S. House districts.
Educate the public on the benefits of returning the House of Representatives to the people by re-establishing the smaller House district sizes envisioned by this nation’s founders.
Identify the challenges associated with this transformation along with possible solutions to address those challenges.
Stimulate debate around all of the foregoing areas.
